“Youth Engaged in Society” Secondary School Debate Club Creation Project was a civil society strengthening project, which aimed to use competitive debating and school debate clubs to inspire and empower youth to become active and responsible members of their society. The clubs offered young people (age 14-18) a place to gather in an informal academic environment to explore, analyze and discuss key issues in their lives and society. During the implementation of the Project 80 clubs were created in eight cities of Armenia: Yerevan, Gyumri, Vanadzor, Abovyan, Hrazdan, Armavir, Metsamor and Echmiadzin. The project was implemented in partnership with the Jinishian Memorial Foundation and the European Union.
